Indio City Council Votes to Move Forward on Annexation Application
Indio, CA (January 27, 2009) - In a 5-0 vote at last week’s regular City Council meeting, the Indio City Council adopted a resolution to initiate an annexation application to the Riverside County Local Agency Formation Commission for 732 acres in the northwest portion of the city’s Sphere of Influence. Nearly 500 acres in the proposed area are part of the Indio Trails development project.
"We are very pleased with the Council’s action to apply for annexation of this area," says Michael O’Rosky, President of Pacific Coast, LLC, which is the general partner of investment firm Global Equity Holdings. "The city’s ongoing confidence in our project and their desire to bring us into the City of Indio is exciting for all of us."
The Indio City Council’s decision comes on the heels of a meeting in early December when the City Council voted unanimously to approve the project. Entitlement approvals include a Specific Plan, Tentative Tract Map, Development Agreement and the City’s certification of the project’s Environment Impact Report.
Upon review of the annexation application, Riverside County LAFCO officials are expected to review the proposed territory change and set a date for a decision. LAFCO regulates the boundaries of cities and most local districts, including annexations of territory, consolidations and other changes and formations.
Nestled at the foothills of the Little San Bernardino Mountains, Indio Trails will be one of the Coachella Valley’s most spectacular neighborhoods. Homebuyers will find a residential opportunity that perfectly suits their needs, with several home sizes and style selections, from country estates to single family detached units to condominiums.

The community will provide a variety of private and public recreation options for residents, including four neighborhood parks situated throughout Indio Trails for easy access.
