ANNEXATION VOTE RESCHEDULED FOR INDIO DEVELOPMENT
For Immediate Release:
Indio, CA (August 20, 2009) - The Riverside Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) has rescheduled its vote on whether to approve a proposed territory change for a 72-acre area known as Indio Trails, in the northwest portion of the City of Indio.
According to LAFCO officials, a decision on the proposed territory change is now expected on Thursday, September 24th, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. (The vote was originally planned for August 27th). LAFCO regulates the boundaries of cities and most local districts, including annexations of territory, consolidations and other changes and formations. "We are quite pleased that LAFCO has decided to schedule this matter for a vote," says Michael O'Rosky, President of Pacific Coast, LLC, which is the general partner of investment firm Global Equity Holdings. "We are confident that once the agency reviews all of the facts and figures, they will issue a decision in the affirmative. This is an exciting time for this project."
In January, the Indio City Council adopted a resolution to initiate an annexation application to the Riverside LAFCO for Indio Trails. Nearly 500 acres in the proposed area are part of the development project. Entitlement approvals include a Specific Plan, Tentative Tract Map, Development Agreement and the City's certification of the project's Environment Impact Report. Nestled at the foothills of the Little San Bernardino Mountains, Indio Trails will be one of the Coachella Valley's most spectacular neighborhoods. Homebuyers will find a residential opportunity that perfectly suits their needs, with several home sizes and style selections, from country estates to single family detached units to condominiums. Close to commercial and retail services, baby boomers will also enjoy a lively village atmosphere with conveniences and top notch amenities at their disposal. A specially-designed condominium enclave for active adults will be centrally located within the community. The community will provide a variety of private and public recreation options for residents, including four neighborhood parks situated throughout Indio Trails for easy access.
Indio Trails will create a connected lifestyle for today's families seeking privacy at home within a neighborhood community that welcomes whatever degree of social engagement is desired. Luxury, comfort, recreation and convenience in an exquisitely-planned community are awaiting you at Indio Trails.
